When you set foot on the enchanting land at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia, you can not only feel the majestic beauty of the pristine wilderness but also savor the unique charm of China's top sparkling wines. As one of the largest grape-growing regions in China, Ningxia, with its exceptional terroir, has nurtured wines that astonish the world. In this land of rolling rocky peaks, Chandon Winery is writing a new chapter for Chinese sparkling wine.
Let me share a little secret with you: the winery is at its most beautiful in the autumn. The picture is at the bottom.
Chandon China: A Perfect Interpretation of Ningxia's Terroir:
Since its establishment in 2013, Chandon Winery (Chandon China) has become a gem in the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia. As a brand under Moët Hennessy, Chandon Winery spans 6,300 square meters and is led by GM Mr. Su Long, dedicated to creating a high-quality sparkling wine production base in China. The poetic Chinese name " Xatong " pays tribute to the land of Ningxia.
From the rooftop, you can see the entire vineyard, with the Helan Mountain faintly visible in the distance.
A Perfect Fusion of Architectural Art and Winemaking Techniques:
The architectural design of Chandon Winery is a work of art in itself. Designed by the globally renowned architecture firm MAP, the winery's exterior features a unique gray and yellow dual-tone façade that tells the story of Ningxia's vineyards. The gray concrete walls are inspired by the winter-buried landscape of the vineyards, while the yellow walls symbolize the loess plateau that nurtures the grapes. Stepping inside the winery, you will experience a modern, understated luxury atmosphere, where you can savor the elegant flavors of Chandon sparkling wines in the professional tasting room.

The Perfect Combination of Traditional Craftsmanship and Ningxia's Terroir:
Chandon Winery strictly adheres to the traditional Champagne method, primarily using Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grape varieties to produce dry sparkling wine (Brut) and rosé sparkling wine (Brut Rosé). Notably, Chandon 's traditional craft semi-dry sparkling red wine, made from the unusual Marselan grape, undergoes 12 months of bottle aging, presenting a complex palate that is intriguing and festive
In the storage room, bottles are filled and ready to be shipped to different regions.
A Sustainable Future: Respecting Terroir and Protecting Nature:
As a guardian of sustainability, Chandon China has adopted international water-saving standards and precision drip irrigation systems since its inception, leading the way in sustainable development in the Ningxia region. We firmly believe that respecting terroir is the first prerequisite for producing high-quality wines. Just as Chandon’s philosophy in various global regions states: while the brand remains the same, each winery is committed to expressing the unique characteristics of its local terroir.
The sparkling wine is already prepared, and we can’t wait to taste it.
At Chandon Winery, you can not only taste elegant sparkling wines that rival Moët & Chandon but also personally experience the charm of this magical land in Ningxia. The pure citrus and lemon aromas, soft and rich bubbles, and refreshing finish will take you on an unforgettable tasting journey. We invite you to explore the world of Chandon and discover the infinite possibilities of Chinese sparkling wine!
