Helan Hong X Ren Yi Yuan Wine Tasting Dinner was held in grand style at the Hoi King Heen of the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong, where laughter, the clinking of glasses, and delighted exclamations filled the air. This was far more than an ordinary meal. With 30 wine lovers gathered together, it became an unforgettable evening—one that offered not just “tasting,” but a journey of flavor all the way to Ningxia.

What made the night especially special was that Lucas, the young master of Ren Yi Yuan, attended in person and shared the stories behind each bottle. Meanwhile, Elsa, the Ningxia wine promotion ambassador, delivered lively and engaging presentations, guiding everyone into the east foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia—a rising “star” growing region. From its sandy-soil character and climate conditions to the dramatic day–night temperature differences, the lesson was clear: every sip of richness and sweetness comes from this land’s distinctive terroir.

The wine lineup was also wonderfully curated. Starting with the fresh and elegant Ren Yi Yuan Chardonnay Dry White, then moving on to the characterful Ren Yi Yuan Red Cabernet Franc Dry wine , the well-structured Ren Yi Yuan Dao Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red, and the truly impressive Helan Hun Hero Edition Reserve Dry Red. Each selection showcased Ningxia wines in a different light—each with its own unique style and charm.

Of course, the food was just as outstanding. From starters like osmanthus-honey crispy eel and tea-scented smoked goose, to main dishes such as steamed grouper with pickled cabbage sauce, pan-fried king prawns with ginger, spring onion, and “Mei Ji” flavor, and even braised head-abalone fried rice. The evening concluded with desserts including osmanthus wine osmanthus mochi cheesecake pudding and almond tart with snow swallow—ending on a perfect note. Every dish was thoughtfully paired with the wines, leaving every guest thoroughly satisfied.
