The 20th Bettane & Desseauve Ministry of Foreign Affairs Celebration was held grandly at 37 Quai d’Orsay, Palais d'Orsay, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. The Ningxia region was awarded the only "International Sustainable Development Award," becoming the first Chinese wine region to receive this honor.

Michel Bettane, Thierry Desseauve, and their team invited over 300 vineyard owners from across France, along with representatives from 14 top Chinese wineries, to gather in this historic hall, which once witnessed the drafting of the Treaty of Versailles. In his speech, jury president Michel Bettane particularly recalled his visit to Ningxia in early 2013: "At that time, under Helan Mountain, it was still a rocky beach. But the Chinese have accomplished in twelve years what took France two hundred years—now it has truly become a green province, and Ningxia produces astonishing wines. This is not just about technological innovation; it reflects a philosophy of coexisting with nature rather than conquering it."

Bettane & Desseauve is hailed as the Michelin or Oscar of the wine world, an authority in professional tasting. Their annual "Bettane & Desseauve Guide" has been published for over twenty years, with rigorous terroir analysis, regional interpretations, and wine selections becoming the most recognized professional guide among French boutique winemakers.

The "Le Grand Tasting" fine wine exhibition held annually at the Louvre in Paris has attracted nearly 20,000 European professionals and enthusiasts over the past twenty years, establishing itself as a prestigious event in the wine industry. This exhibition concept has successfully been introduced to China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and the UK.

Since entering China in 2010, Bettane & Desseauve has sent teams of French experts to visit Chinese wine regions every year for concentrated wine tastings. In 2025, Chinese wine critic Liu Jiayin will serve as the Chinese representative for Bettane & Desseauve, launching the "Wines of China Selection" series as a Chinese wine almanac. This will feature tasting reports, in-depth interviews with regions, personal stories, and technological innovations, ultimately creating an encyclopedia for understanding Chinese wine globally.
